Keith Jarrett Trio Live: Standards 2 (Full Concert)

YouTube

I posted this incredible concert video a while back and just rediscovered it; started watching and couldn’t stop. It’s pure unforced genius and telepathic communication from start to finish. “When You Wish Upon a Star” is truly stellar.

Set list:
0:50 - You Don’t Know What Love Is (Gene de Paul & Don Raye - 1941)
10:04 - With A Song In My Heart (Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart - 1929)
19:30 - When You Wish Upon A Star (Leigh Harline & Ned Washington - 1940)
27:34 - All Of You (Cole Porter - 1954)
35:52 - Blame It To My Youth (Oscar Levant & Edward Heyman - 1934)
44:37 - Love Letters ( Victor Young & Edward Heyman - 1945)
52:46 - Georgia On My Mind (Hoagy Carmichael & Stuart Gorrell - 1930)
1:00:52 - You And The Night And The Music (Arthur Schwartz & Howard Dietz - 1934)
1:10:47 - When I Fall In Love (Victor Young & Edward Heymann - 1952)
1:16:32 - Green Dolphin Street (Bronisław Kaper & Ned Washington - 1947)
1:24:22 - Woodyn’ You (Dizzy Gillespie - 1943)

I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that an intelligence agency has evidence of stolen documents and is investigating the source of those documents.

If so, it will be interesting if those specific documents haven’t yet been returned despite all efforts to recover them.

As an aside, I was looking up something about Ralph Vaughn Williams on wiki and thought this line a delight:

When the young Vaughan Williams asked his mother about Darwin’s controversial book On the Origin of Species, she answered, “The Bible says that God made the world in six days. Great Uncle Charles thinks it took longer: but we need not worry about it, for it is equally wonderful either way”

From downstairs… Kash Patel is only mentioned in this way:

As Judge Jordan explained in Steinger, if details about an ongoing investigation are prematurely disclosed, such disclosures “would compromise the investigation and might also lead to the destruction of evidence .” 626 F. Supp. 2d at 1235 (citing Douglas Oil Co., 441 U.S. at 218-19); see also, e.g., Patel v. United States, No. 9: l 9-MC-81181, 2019 WL 4251269, at *5 (S.D . Fla. Sept. 9, 20 19) (agreeing with the government that disclosure of information “would severely prejudice” its investigation, including by “prematurely disclosing its scope and direction, subjects, and potential witnesses, and could result in the destruction of evidence”); D.E. 80 at 9-10 (disclosure of investigative “sources and methods” “would detrimentally affect this investigation and future investigations”).

Literally no reason to redact that.

It was create for it’s chaos (think Everything, Everywhere All at Once). The fans were always trying to have two of the characters in a relationship. I’m starting at the part that relates here. Goddammit, no-one seems to understand that the numbers quoted for the search warrant (186 docs including 25 labeled Top Secret) were from the original 15 boxes recovered back in February and first viewed by the FBI in June and had nothing to do with the evidence recovered two weeks ago.

Why is this so hard people to grok? Even the media is getting its little pink panties in a twist in conflating the two events.

The bottom line is, the February documents definitively label TFG as a felon, and the material that was recovered two weeks ago (the stuff he saved) is going to grab him right by the pussy, flip him over, and roger him right in the ass.

I wasn’t sure if you were speaking to me here, or not, but the June documents I was referring to were the documents obtained by subpoena from MAL on June 3.

The June documents were collected in February by NARA and given to the FBI in June. That was when the 184 Confidential/Secret/Top Secret documents were confirmed and that was the basis of the redacted Search Warrant on Mar-a-Lago that was released today.

The 184 classified documents were *not* collected two weeks ago. Those are the docs recovered in there original cache recovered back in February when Trump’s lawyer Bobb, signed over the 15 boxes and said “That’s it! That’s all we’ve got.”

But a lot of people here seem to have confused what was recovered in February, the basis for the search warrant, and what was collected two weeks ago.

Any factual description of what was discovered two weeks ago is bulkshit. That intel is being very carefully vetted because there is every indication that a lot of foreign assets have been taken off the table since TFG got tossed out of the White House on January 20th, 2021 because the loss of those assets occurred after TFG took the documents to I’m-A-Logo.

Agree with what you say here, but there was also a subpoena served and specific documents obtained from MAL on June 3. That was what I was referring to, and that seemed to have caused your #108. That shook me, so I looked up the timeline, and I was correct in that more docs were obtained in June.

Yes, but it was the decision directing NARA to release the 15 boxes to the FBI that directly resulted in the Search Warrant at Mar-A-Lago. Anything else, including documents obtained from MAL (can you give me a citation on that?), was ancillary to the prime mover, which was the discovery of 25 Top Secret Documents (not pages, documents) discovered in the boxes recovered in Feb, 2022.

Re: discussions downstairs on Hunter Biden. Someone suggested that it was time for Fox to start bring up Hunter as a distraction from Mar-a-Lago.

Over the past 2 days I was subjected to 2 unreliable sources:
(1) My FB Trumpster friend who ranted

Mark Zuckerberg admits on Joe Rogan’s show that the FBI lied about the Hunter Biden’ laptop. Told Social Media leaders that it was Russian disinformation when they knew that was a lie.
The FBI interfered with the 2020 election.
Both Twitter and Facebook blocked information about the laptop.
A court case is now pending.

(2) Bill Maher who proposed there was a conspiracy to silence those promoting the story to help elect Biden. Maher was claiming the MSM was confessing that there was something to the story.

My question: has there been any current real news on Hunter and his laptop? or is this just Fox and the lackeys for NY Times and other outlets promoting Fox innuendoes?

A relative who is a developer called me today because he was unhappy that after 2 1/2 years working from home, his company was now insisting that after Labor Day, everyone return to the office full time. I contacted a friend whose company recently had some openings and where most of the staff has been remote even before the pandemic. He told me that apparently in-office work has been undesirable for many who are now looking for positions where they don’t have to spend time and money commuting to work.

I think we might eventually learn that allied intelligence agencies were involved in exposing this operation, having learned through their own networks that ultra-sensitive US data was for sale. Which one? It might well be more than one but if I had to choose, my money would be on the French DGSE, because of its very extensive networks in the Middle East.

Since I don’t watch TV except on Saturdays when I’m visiting my mother and brother, I have missed this ad. It’s from Sen. Mark Kelly’s campaign and does not shy away from using the word “abortion” in its attacks on Blake Masters.

Of course, there are people who won’t vote for Kelly because he supports abortion rights, but they weren’t going to vote for him anyway.

Israel also has extensive networks in the Middle East, and they’ve been looking sideways at Trump ever since he gave up one of their best spies just to brag to the Russians.

LOL I guess those washing machine chips weren’t up to the task.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has suspended the issuance of biometric foreign passports for “technical reasons,” the ministry said in an August 26 statement.

The ministry did not give a reason for the decision, but earlier Russia stopped issuing biometric internal documents because of a deficit of the required chips due to sanctions imposed against the country following its unprovoked invasion of neighboring Ukraine in February.

In June, the state-controlled Sberbank savings bank announced it was “recoding” old chips in order to use them for newly issued bank cards.

Annuity rates went up, again.

The lottery annuity rates are the highest I’ve seen.

This goes along with the idea (being pushed in some media) that a recession is coming, including a collapse of housing prices.

The idea is that the credit tightening is going to hurt.

It may hurt. It already does for anyone with loans with variable interest rates, revolving credit accounts, etc.

I’m having a hard time believing housing prices are going to come down noticeably. They may flatline for fall by a few percentage, but as a nation we’ve go too much tied up into the idea that houses are the primary asset for most people.

Parts of George Dawson’s book deemed inappropriate for George Dawson Middle School students

SOUTHLAKE, Texas - Carroll ISD in Southlake is reviewing sections of the book Life Is So Good, co-written by George Dawson to see if it is appropriate to teach at George Dawson Middle School.

Dawson, the grandson of a slave who lived most of his life in Dallas, published the biography in 2000 after learning to read at the age of 98.

Life Is So Good looks back on Dawson’s life, discussing what things were like in the 20th Century, including topics like lynching, racism, segregation and civil rights.

Heavens forfend.

At this point, it is inconceivable to me that Garland could say, “We got the documents back, so we’re good now.” If Trump was anyone else, he would’ve been arrested and jailed over a year ago.

i was not aware of this stat re student loan forgiveness
todays’s electoral-vote.com

S.L in Glendora, CA, asks: You point out that nobody is getting a check for $10,000 to help pay off their loans. The payoff amount has been reduced by $10,000, so their monthly payments will go down a little. My question is about all those Republicans who are whining about the working class now having to pay off the loans of college graduates. Are taxes going to go up as a result of loan forgiveness? Who is this money owed to, the federal government or banks? Is the government going to have to send the banks $10,000 checks to offset the loan forgiveness?

V & Z answer: Roughly 92% of student loan debt, about $1.75 trillion, is owned by the Department of Education. The money’s already spent, so the Biden cancellation won’t require new outlays or taxes (at least, not directly), it will just reduce the amount of money the government is taking in.

Timeline adds up: Trump leaves office with the docs in January, 2021 then starts selling them in March or April or thereabouts, and then CI’s start getting killed, arrested, etc. probably starting around July or August. Then CIA HQ sends out a warning to their overseas station chiefs in October of 2021 that something’s gone wrong.

“In the minutes and hours after the FBI’s search of former President Donald J. Trump’s residence in Florida this month, his supporters did not hesitate to denounce what they saw as a blatant abuse of power and outrageous politicization of the Justice Department,” the New York Times reports.

“But with the release of a redacted affidavit detailing the justification for the search, the former president’s allies were largely silent, a potentially telling reaction with ramifications for his political future.”

Nyt is not wrong.
But all that instantaneous denouncing was nothing principled or grounded in law.
It was the usual contrarian-we- have -to -do -the -opposite reaction

I know I’m kind of vague about what I do for work. Yesterday, a coworker was telling me that management was talking about paying for a “Major Incident Manager” certification for us ($1,650 USD). On a lark, I plugged in “Major Incident Manager” into Indeed dot com to see what came up. This description of an open position at PayPal in Scottsdale is a fairly close approximation of what I do. It would be kind of amusing to apply for it, but I’d have to put a lot of effort into whipping my resume into shape and I’m not sure I want to do that. But at least I have a very well-written description of what I do to work from in the future.

I don’t disagree, but it’s rich to hear lectures on “good judgment” from the guy who brought us Sarah Palin.

Of course, but unlike current Republican politicians concerning Trump, he pretty quickly recognized his error. I accept all allies in the fight against fascism, while recognizing there are limits to that alliance. People suggesting a unity ticket with Liz Cheney, for example, are just nuts. She has done a great job on the J6 committee, but that is close to the limit of her usefulness. I hope she runs for the GOP nomination for President and humiliates Trump on the debate stage, but she’s never going to hold political office again unless a Democratic President appoints her to a Cabinet position, because Democrats still like a bit of bipartisanship in their Administrations.

Crush White Nationalism  Aug 27, 2022 • 7:38:45am
A white Florida man has been convicted of a federal hate crime over a highly dangerous and racially motivated road rage attack on a Black man who was driving with his girlfriend and daughter last summer.

Jordan Patrick Leahy, 29, was found guilty by federal jurors in Tampa on Wednesday of one count of unlawful interference with a federally protected activity, namely, driving on the street.

The conviction comes as a double loss for Leahy because the man he attacked was a trained mixed martial artist who easily subdued his assailant and kept him in a chokehold until authorities arrived.

“Across America, families must be able to freely travel our public streets without fear of being attacked because of race,” Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke said in a press release. “This verdict should send a strong message that the Department of Justice remains firmly committed to prosecuting, to the fullest extent of the law, those who would use violence to enforce heinous racist beliefs.”

Leahy faces up to ten years in federal prison. His sentencing date has yet to be scheduled.

re: #150 Love-Child of Cassandra and Sisyphus

Annuity rates went up, again.

The lottery annuity rates are the highest I’ve seen.

This goes along with the idea (being pushed in some media) that a recession is coming, including a collapse of housing prices.

The idea is that the credit tightening is going to hurt.

It may hurt. It already does for anyone with loans with variable interest rates, revolving credit accounts, etc.

I’m having a hard time believing housing prices are going to come down noticeably. They may flatline for fall by a few percentage, but as a nation we’ve go too much tied up into the idea that houses are the primary asset for most people.

I’ve lived through this — when mortgage interest rates reached 18% — when the house we bought had owner financing at 10% (for 5 years) which we considered an amazing bargain — when the home (well before we bid on it) had been valued 25% higher than the price we paid. Too many homes may be overvalued (whatever that means) as it is. A girl friend who has housing now in both Chicago area and Arizona (summer and winter homes) confided in me yesterday that the only reason they were keeping their Illinois townhouse was that it had not appreciated at all in the past 7 years since their purchase and that a neighbor just sold their similar place for 10% less than she and her husband paid for theirs. Housing prices can collapse — just like the stock market can.

the spy45 scandal should be named NARA Lago (Asha Rangappa’s suggestion).

Henceforth all presidential scandals should have “Lago” suffix.

“Gate” suffix should be retired now that it is the 50th anniversary of Watergate and the Lago affair, way, way, way outdistances what Nixon did

“Six months after its high-profile launch, the site — a clone of Twitter, which banned Trump after Jan. 6, 2021 — still has no guaranteed source of revenue and a questionable path to growth.

Some Google employees: WTF - you’re forcing return to office for at least three days a week and I have an inbox of COVID exposure notices. Let’s go back to more work from home since we were making record earnings doing that.

Other Google employees - it’s unfair to ban unvaccinated employees from in person meetings since my inbox is full of COVID exposure warnings anyway.

My personal opinion is that companies with hard line RTO policies will be at a very competitive disadvantage for the next few years, if not for all of the future, to those companies with a more relaxed work-from-home policy.

My employer took the unusual step of explicitly saying, “Working from home is not a guaranteed perk of employment at our company,” but I found out why. Our company isn’t huge, and there are tax implications with people working from home for all or most of the time. With that said, it sounds like they’re trying their hardest to accommodate as many people as possible, and make as clear as possible how to fit into the company’s accommodations.

That’s pretty much what I did though I’m still trying to find another 10hrs/wk consulting (I’ve managed to set up 10 hrs/wk already). I was working remotely from Minnesota with the company division out in California. They wanted me to start flying out there once a month and get me set up in an office at one of the Minnesota offices. Their rationale? Collaboration. And, I’m like the five patent filings and everything else the last two years not enough?

BTW, the organization I do have a consulting agreement? In CA, with offices literally across the street from the CA company division.

Actually, I think the “potentially deadly threat to human intelligence assets” aspect of the latest MAL Document retrieval flap may be a tipping point: even the FYNYT headed the print edition with a non-mealy, non-excusable headline over the danger.
Before this, TFG and his lame-ass apologists could just shrug off the scandal as “political”, or just documents” and take refuge behind the cloak of fake outrage about how offensively a Former POTUS was so disrespectfully mistreated by an “out-of-control DOJ” or whatever deflective bullshit their hacks could come up with.
But once it become a matter of people literally getting killed over these unsecured documents, the game changes. Big time.

re: #186 mmmirele

I know I’m kind of vague about what I do for work. Yesterday, a coworker was telling me that management was talking about paying for a “Major Incident Manager” certification for us ($1,650 USD). On a lark, I plugged in “Major Incident Manager” into Indeed dot com to see what came up. This description of an open position at PayPal in Scottsdale is a fairly close approximation of what I do. Especially the “influence without authority” part.

-snip-

It would be kind of amusing to apply for it, but I’d have to put a lot of effort into whipping my resume into shape and I’m not sure I want to do that. But at least I have a very well-written description of what I do to work from in the future.

Being responsible for things I have no control over has been my job description for every job I’ve had since college. Due to good support, It’s been an interesting life.

This suggests that it wasn’t post-election that the agents were being killed but rather that Trump may have been providing information to Putin while he was still in office. OTOH, the NYT article itself provides a host of other reasons for the losses.

I was a fencer for about 20 years.
Met a lot of girl fencers.
HS boys only wrestle boys

That’s how I thought of band, especially during football season. All those macho guys running around the field tackling and slapping each other on the butt. While I was in the stands with the female musicians and color guard.

Kind of a weird question, but if Trump were to lose everything that would presumably include Bedminster. Who would want to buy it with the grave of Ivana on it?

Anybody who wanted the tax break. It would still be, legally, a cemetery.
