So maybe they’ll sell it to Mark Cuban or Mercedes Bezos. Or a consortium headed by Taylor Swift and Jay-Z. Keep hope alive. (If Musk or Zuckerberg puts in a bid, the FTC can scream “monopoly!!” and refuse them permission.)

China may not permit the sale because they don’t want the underlying algorithm to go to another country.
There is also a chance that the demand that it be sold is unconstitutional anyway.
