Disowning is a bit much. There are steps to take before that.

The ugly truth is that because this whole fucking country’s about the money that’s what this comes down to for a lot of (mostly white) people; the mental calculus of how much it’s literally worth to maintain a cordial relationship with demonstrably amoral family members in the hopes of not jeopardizing some potential future inheritance.
