I like pointing out to the Molon Labe folk that more Thespians fought to the death at the final battle at Thermopylae than Spartans.

It sometimes causes confusion.

The myth of the Spartans is vastly overblown. They weren’t alone at Thermopylae, as you rightly pointed out. And after the event, the Greeks united under the Athenian banner, except for the Spartans, who said, “Nah, fuck all that.” And the Athenians kicked their asses straight into the Mediterranean Sea.
